Day 3: Hitting the slopes!

This will be short and sweet since I am on the computer in the hotel lobby while the kids nosh on waffles, oatmeal and other continental breakfast items. (Sunrise was at 6:22 am and breakfast wasn't served until 6:30 so I woke up early, had a banana, cinnamon role and coffee.)  I also made sure to down a few glasses of water to hydrate myself since I will be skiing and seeing if I can do it without water.

I know this may sound like a crazy thing to do, but it is part of the rules of Ramadan.  Last year, NFL training camp fell during Ramadan and here is a cool story about an NFL player and his observance of the fast during workouts!  Now, I in no way pretend to possess even 1/8th the athleticism or physical strength or a professional athlete, so I am not going to try and be a hero today.  My brother-in-law will be toting some water bottles while we ski, but I am going to try and avoid it at all possible.  So far, no food from sunrise to sunset has not been much of an issue, but I can foresee a day of skiing without water until 6:05 pm as being a bit problematic.

Hopefully, my next post will not be from a hospital room in Denver!
